This walkthrough takes you from zero to a live guide pursuing a real outcome. You’ll need an org admin role; the Guides surface lives under Operate → Guides.
1

Set up a channel

A guide needs at least one way to reach the customer. For texting and calling, buy a number under Settings → Branding & Identity → Phone & registration — voice works immediately, while texting unlocks after carrier registration (details). For email, verify your domain under Email Domain so the guide can send as a real address and wake on replies (details).
2

Author the guide

Create a guide and write its instructions in plain English: the outcome it’s pursuing, what “done” means, the tone to take, the cadence to keep, and when to hand off to a human. Attach tool rows so it can read the systems that matter — your CRM record, your knowledge base — and it will use those reads to ground what it says and to verify the outcome. See Building a guide.
3

Rehearse it on yourself

Before anything reaches a customer, run the whole thread against yourself: text with it, take the web call in your browser, fast-forward time to see how it follows up. Nothing in rehearsal touches a real customer. See Rehearsal.
4

Enroll a customer

Enroll one customer: name, phone, email, company, and the owner on your side — and attest to consent for the contact channel. The guide opens the conversation itself. See Enrolling customers.
5

Watch it work

The customer’s watch page is a certified log of everything the guide does: every send, every source check, every wake. Approvals and escalations land in your Inbox. See The watch page.
6

Verify the outcome

The guide closes the outcome only by citing a fresh read from a connected source — or, with no read tool attached, by your explicit confirmation. Green is earned. See Outcomes and verification.
