# Documents and decks

> Generate branded documents and 16:9 slide decks with AI, co-brand them with a customer's logo, refine them in place, and export to PDF or PowerPoint.

Studio can generate polished, on-brand documents and slide decks from a rough brief: paste bullets or a draft, pick a format, and Thread composes the result in your brand system — your logo, your accent color, an editorial layout. Generated assets are first-class Studio citizens: save them to the library, reopen and edit them later, attach them to motion emails, or share them to a customer's portal.

## Where to start a generation

* **From Studio** — the **Create** button in the Studio header.
* **From an account** — **Generate with Studio** in the account's Documents section. Starting from an account pre-fills the co-brand field with that customer's domain, so the deck comes out co-branded without any setup.

## Setting up the brief

The setup form takes a minute:

    **Document** or **Slide deck**. Documents offer a type — one-pager, product roadmap, customer
    or partner brief, FAQ, announcement, internal memo, job description, or a custom description.
    Decks offer a length and compose as landscape 16:9 slides, one idea per slide, from a fixed set
    of slide layouts.

  <Step title="Co-brand it (optional)">
    Enter a customer domain in **Co-brand with** — their logo is pulled in automatically for a
    joint masthead lockup alongside your own logo. Your own brand (logo and accent color) is
    resolved from your organization's branding without any input.

  <Step title="Set the audience">
    Choose who it's for — internal, partner review, investor briefing, customer-facing, or public —
    which shapes the register of the writing.

  <Step title="Give it substance">
    The **Content notes** field is where the result is won or lost: paste bullets, a rough draft,
    or a description of what it should say. Facts, numbers, names, and structure all carry through.
    Then hit **Generate document** or **Generate deck**.

## Refining the result

The generated result is directly editable — you don't have to regenerate to fix a line:

* **Click any text** on a slide or in the document to edit it in place.
* **Hover a slide** for layout controls — move, add, or remove slides and items, swap icons. An **Add slide** button on the filmstrip offers a picker of slide archetypes.
* **Refine with a prompt** — describe a change in natural language ("tighten the intro, make slide 3 a comparison") and revert if you don't like it.
* **Regenerate** re-runs the whole brief; **Edit setup** lets you adjust the format, co-brand, or notes first.

## Saving to Studio

**Save to Studio** files the result into your library with a name and optional category. Saved generations keep their source, so you (or a teammate) can reopen them later with **Edit in Studio** from the library and either **Save** changes or **Save as a copy**.

  Copies that have already been shared with accounts don't update automatically when you edit the
  Studio original — the save dialog warns you when a document has been shared.

## Exporting and sharing

From the result view:

* **Download PDF** — produces the file directly. For the sharpest text, **Download HTML** and print to PDF from Chrome.
* **Download PowerPoint** — decks only.
* **Open in Google Docs** — documents only, when Google is connected.
* **Email** — sends the PDF with a branded email (your logo and company name) to a **teammate on your own domain**. This is deliberately internal-only: Studio's email button can never send to an external address.

  Exports are snapshots — a downloaded PDF or PowerPoint doesn't update when the Studio document
  changes. And Studio itself has no direct-to-customer send: customer delivery happens through
  [motion email plays](/motions/email-plays) (as a portal link or attachment), by applying a packet
  to an account, or by sharing from the account's Documents section — all of which keep the
  customer's copy inside their [portal](/customer-portal/documents).
